#DigitalDigbeth Day – Spotlight on The Space
Posted in: Digital Digbeth
Birmingham is among the most innovative cities in Europe right now, a fact recognised in the BBC’s decision to choose Brum to host its next ‘Digital Cities’ Week between the 12th-16th June. The centrepiece event of the week is going to be #DigitalDigbeth Day, a tech-filled extravaganza at Fazeley Studios.
Among the fantastic panel events on the day will be The Space, a commissioning and development organisation based in Birmingham, at Fazeley Studios, which helps artists and arts groups make the most of digital opportunities.
This event is not to be missed if you are interested in growing audiences for your work, as members of The Space will show you how to reach fertile, new audiences online using digital content and distribution partners.
Head of Audiences and Distribution Owen Hopkin will give his top tips in audience development and talk about how the organisation drives engagement for projects using a number of digital tools and platforms. This session will look at the ways in which The Space has found non-traditional arts audiences for its projects, including the entire Ring Cycle (all 15 hours of it!), engaged with space junk enthusiasts and took a live event on the banks of the Thames to an audience of millions worldwide.
The event will feature The Space’s Creative Director and CEO Fiona Morris, who will talk about what the organisation is interested in supporting and commissioning.
The panel will also include other specially invited guests from digital arts projects, including Birmingham Rep’s ‘Stadium’ production, which is bringing the terraces to the theatre as football fans from Birmingham City, Aston Villa and West Bromwich Albion share their hilarious and heartbreaking stories of fandom, friendship and football, live on stage.
The only way to be a part of this amazing panel event is to be a part of #DigitalDigbeth Day. Tickets are completely FREE, so get yours now and expand your own digital audience!
